Avril Daly

Avril has worked for the Irish Charity Fighting Blindness for eight years. As Head of Public Affairs she is responsible for raising awareness of retinal degenerative diseases among the general public, health care professionals and policy makers. She also works on the promotion and development of the charities significant research portfolio.

Avril is a board member of GRDO - Genetic and Rare Disorders Organisation, the Irish umbrella group supporting Irish families affected by genetic and rare disorders.

Through Fighting Blindness she is a member of the Medical Research Charities Group, the Irish Platform for Patient Organisations Science and Industry, Eurordis and Retina International.

Her education is in Marketing and Communications and her previous work experience has been in publishing, event management and public relations.
