  • Elaborated and implemented projects such as the Romanian Mental Health Resource Center, Training Program in Capacity Building for Romanian Mental Health NGOs for the first time in Romania

2007

Coordinator of the Project "Employment - a guarantee of equal opportunities and quality of life for people with disabilities", project funded by USAID and which consisted on the following activities:

  • Research on the situation of employment of people with disabilities in Romania
  • Elaboration of a National Report regarding the employment situation of the people with disabilities in Romania
  • Elaboration of two Guides for employment; one destined to people with disabilities and one destined to employers.

2002 -2008

Country Project Manager for Romania - "Enhancing Social Cohesion through Strengthening Community Mental Health Services in South-Eastern Europe", project developed in the framework of the Stability Pact in order to promote cooperation in the area among the Former Yugoslav countries. The projects consisted of 3 components:

  • Elaboration of policy and legislation in mental health field by each of the 9 countries
  • Implementation of a Community Mental Health Pilot Center in each of the 9 countries
  • Training of the staff working in the Community Mental Health Pilot Center

2000-2006

  • Coordinator of 4 national projects funded by EU Phare Program: 2005 - Accessibility of training programs for people with disabilities, 2003 - Training in advocacy for people with disabilities, 2002 - "Mental health problems are treatable. How do you treat people with mental health problems?" - Campaign with target teenagers, 2000 - "Now you know why you have to care!" - Campaign for increasing the role of mental health organizations within their community.
  • 2004-2005 - Raporteur for Romania for the project "Monitoring Access to Education and Employment for People with Intellectual Disabilities" an EUMAP (EU Monitoring and Advocacy Program) report- in co-operation with MHI (Mental Health Initiative).   • 2003 - Project manager of the project "Health Education in the Romanian Schools - Healthy Development and Mental Health for All" - the goal of the project was to promote correct knowledge regarding mental health issues and to offer the possibility to the Romanian children and teenagers to get the necessary skills and attitudes for a responsible and healthy behavior. The project was developed for the Romanian schools and high schools and it is done in cooperation with the Romanian Ministry of Education.

2003

Virginia, USA - Consultant for World Federation for Mental Health for the project "Developing Advocacy Network of NGOs from Central and Eastern Europe"

2000 - 2001

Project Manager of the East-Central European Scholarship Program funded by USAID "Management and Leadership Training for Senior NGO Managers"; during the two year Program a number of 24 top managers from nongovernmental organizations from Romania were trained in management and leadership.

1999

World Bank, Washington DC - Internship with the Mental Health Specialist from the Human Development, Health, Nutrition, Population Department. The projects I was involved during my internship with the World Bank are:

  • Research on cost-effective interventions health projects in developing countries
  • Consultant for the project "Developing Framework for National Mental Health Policies in Developing Countries"
  • Development of the Training Program in Mental Health issues for the Health Sector Staff of the World Bank

Other

  • International experience from participation to different seminars, workshops, conferences and congresses as session chair, invited speaker or trainer in various countries of Europe, USA and Australia.
  • 2004-2006 - President of GAMIAN Europe (General Alliance of Mental Illness Advocacy Networks) Europe - an umbrella organization with 85 organizations members from 37 countries.
  • 2007 - 2009 - Elected as a Board member of the World Federation for Mental Health
