Cor Oosterwijk

Cor Oosterwijk (1962) is secretary general of the European Genetic Alliances' Network. EGAN is the European association of patient organisations with a specific interest in genetics, genomics and biomedical research. One of the founders of EGAN is the Dutch Genetic Alliance VSOP, of which Oosterwijk is the Executive Director. To serve its 55 member patient organizations, the VSOP is active in the field of rare, genetic and congenital disorders, community genetics and genomics, and in patient involvement in biomedical research.
Oosterwijk national positions include, amongst others, board member of the Foundation for Preconception Care, board member of the Dutch Clinical Trial Foundation and advisor of the Dutch Medicines for Children Network. Oosterwijk studied Medical Biology at Utrecht University. In earlier positions, Oosterwijk taught Biotechnological Engineering in higher vocational education and was a Senior Clinical Trial Manager. Cor Oosterwijk is married and father of two sons.
